My brothers child (mn) child threw a toy at my brand new TV they didnt even discipline her and she was laughing about it. The child is three years old and I understand that children do these things. I just feel frustrated that's it's happened and they laughed and said didnt have the money to pay £500 for a new one and my hubby said we should claim on our insurance but we have already made two claims. It's frustrating as I see that they are always buying things like cars and holidays and meals out but I dont know how to approach this with my db without falling out with him.

They should have apologised but that’s what insurance is for.

A normal moral person would have been appalled and offered to rectify the situation in some way. Of course, a polite person might then refuse but the offer has to be sincerely made. He is clearly a dysfunctional oaf and I wouldn't put up with him.

Of course they should pay! Or at least pay the excess of you make an insurance claim. It's appalling that they just laughed and didn't even apologise. It's their responsibility to sort this.

he's obviously got no intention of paying so no point in asking or expecting it..

you could ask him if he minds putting his child in a cage next time he visits... jokingly of course :-/

Swap TVs with them and get them to claim on their insurance.
