AIBU to expect people to arrive on time for a meeting

especially if they charge £1000 per day. First week with new consultancy. Meeting booked at 9:30 (30 mins after the start of the working day). 2 out of 9 new consultants there on time. Last rolls in at 10:30, half hour before end of meeting. Tech director thinks IABU for flagging this as an issue. Says I should cut them some slack and not book any meetings before 10am in future to allow them time to check emails and plan day.

Yanbu!

I would be very unimpressed, are these consultants in the same building as you? Did they let you know they would be late?

Many people are so disrespectful about getting to appointments on time, my DH has to allow at least four hours to get to his Head Office for a meeting, he is usually the first to arrive although his boss has a 20 minute commute Hmm. (He is usually the last to leave as well, trying to sees anyone later than 4.30 is a joke - and no, they don’t all come in early or work flexible time.)

That’s shocking. Tech director is a doormat and asking to be mugged off.

skiptheskip · 14/01/2020 21:56

Even if you'd planned it for 10am some of them would still have been 30 mins late.

Your tech director is a knob.

Are these a group of people that you've hired in to work for you at a cost of £1000 a day? If so I'd be reading them the riot act.

OMG! Huge issue!!!

notaskingforafriend · 14/01/2020 22:02

It's £1000 per day per person.
