AIBU: Waiting *all day* to find out what happened on the CF parking thread

Just finished work, fired up my computer, more excited about this than the series finale for GofT and.... it's been deleted by Mumsnet. Can anyone tell me, in a way that MN will be ok with, what happened??? Please? I live a quiet life, obvi.

If MN Admin didn't keep zapping threads just started to lock them, there wouldn't be the follow up onslaught of TAAT....just saying.
Lock the thread but put a note at the last post of the thread to say why they're locking it and job done! We can still read the thread (no need to have threads about threads) and they get to control the nonsense.

Admittedly it was getting a bit weird. Who has time to make up stories though and why would you want to?

Because so many gullible people fall for it and get ridiculously over-invested. They love the attention and cheerleading.

Is it just me who generally does care if threads are fake? Still good fun!

YES. This! Why delete them. Lock them. I didn't even know what TAAT was until all this. And as poster above says, if locked, we can enjoy them and also learn what people who make shit up sound like.

Seems to me like some of you who've responded to my TAAT had worked out it was a scam/bridge dweller, likely because you've seen this shit before. I had not seen it before, and I wish I could read all the OP's posts again so I can recognize the signals next time and not get so invested!!

Please MN if you are reading this, can you just lock these things? (and ban the OP!)
