okiedokieme · 10/01/2020 17:41

Not worth it - I was offered the chance to give up work and travel the world by a man I barely knew, I ran! Ok my now dp has a good job but actually works unlike me rich.

okiedokieme · 10/01/2020 17:43

I'm more attracted to intelligent conversation

Once. He ended it saying we were great on paper but didn't work in practise. He had a point.

Look for the qualities of the person first. All the other three are important (but relative mind). Its more about stable job, shared values of what you want in life and crucially its about how they are with money and how that matches you.

AngryFeminist · 10/01/2020 17:50

In terms of wanting the same things out of life, yes - I've never been attracted to someone on grounds of what they earn or own because that's not what I base my life around so I was attracted to DH because he didn't either.

EmmiJay · 10/01/2020 17:51

@NewYears Grin I have no idea what he is atm

MerryDeath · 10/01/2020 17:58

Yes but mainly men who live 'interesting' lives, on boats etc, nothing that's actually useful Hmm

NemophilistRebel · 10/01/2020 18:01

I was attracted to someone for the lifestyle but they weren’t wealthy.

I had been with someone wealthy and it was miserable

I was far more attracted to someone who was confident in being a craftsman and designer and had a lust for exploring and learning new skills.

Mandarinfish · 10/01/2020 18:01

When I met my DH we both had good jobs and good prospects. I think it is generally easier if you have similar lifestyles.

Thewheelsarefallingoff · 10/01/2020 20:28

@Onewardsup thank you for your generous offer, but I think I will leave that fantasy safely in my head.Grin
