Mouse in hotel room

More of a WWYD really. DH has taken me to a lovely hotel for my birthday for a couple of nights. When we arrived, I found a couple of black rice-sized things under a cushion, brushed them off and thought no more about it. Later on we were on the bed when suddenly a little mouse ran out from behind the wardrobe! We took a video of him, we love animals and concerned that if we tell hotel then mouse will be a goner. On the other hand, not very hygienic.

YANBU - Keep quiet

Of course you report it. It isn’t a pet mouse it’s a pest. I would be asking for a refund.

No, but they should be able to control them sufficiently that you don't see droppings and live rodents in the bedrooms.

And they probably do, or else the reviews would certainly say otherwise!

There are mice in lots of buildings but they should be actively managing them. You have to tell them and sadly cute as they may be, they need to go, not just be moved. They make endless babies!

Report it.

As much as anything else, I think the hotel's response would say a lot. If they obviously don't give a damn, is this really somewhere I want to eat the food from?

We reported it and they gave us another room. When we inspected the floor just as we were leaving we counted 17 mouse poos that had not been there day before. We did point out to the receptionist that it is a concern due to the proximity of the room as it is next door to the kitchen. We will be making a complaint to the overall manager before we leave if he is on site, then to the MD as it is part of a supposedly reasonably upmarket small group, not going to name and shame on here, will give them a chance to properly apologise and advise us of action taken so as to prevent any health issues.

You could always report it to Mousekeeping
(gets coat)

Seriously though, no matter how cute Mickey looks, he needs to go. And there are probably several more of his mates nearby.

I was going to say I'd be worried about the kitchens! ...Yikes!

Maybe a word to the local council would not go amiss!

Love that, maggienolia!Grin
