Baby sleeping on Tummy - AIBU

I'm part of a online mums group. Lots of babies are having issue settling and sleeping at night (babies range from 12-4 weeks) a couple of mums have posted that they let their babies sleep on their front at night not just for supervised naps

AIBU to think that this is still considered dangerous with regards to SIDS risk? I mentioned it wasn't the current advice and even tho I know my baby would sleep much better on their front as with all my kids I put them down on their backs and deal with the sleep issues that come with that ... the members of the group who do let their baby tummy sleep said I was being precious and silly. That they slept on their fronts as babies and are fine so just because I already have babies and they are FTM I shouldn't belittle their parenting choices and as mums they know best

I didn't mean to belittle anyone's choices I just have always thought tummy sleeping was considered a risk but maybe I'm wrong and am being "precious"

@MakingABoobOfIt

I wanted to come on to say the same

The NHS guidelines are there for the one. random idiot in the street who would fall into bed drunk with a newborn and a 13tog duvet and risk smothering. Lowest common denominator and all that - covering their back.

Read safe sleep by la Leche league, or do some proper fucking research about the family bed as practised in Japan and other countries.

One of the reasons co sleeping was not so safe previously is that one of the safety factors is doing it hand in hand with breastfeeding, and breastfeeding stats in the UK are poor.

I found a baby foam thing for putting baby on his side. I never purchased it but was suprised it was an option as I thought that babies were all on their back until they can roll now.

Sorry to jump on an old post here but I'm loosing sleep over this !
My LG is 7 months and can roll to the front but not backwards ( I swear she's a drama queen already lol ) but likes to sleep on her tummy ! Rolls instantly in the cot ... do I leave her ?
Please help Confused

@Jenny2020
I'd suggest making a new thread for your question. You'll get more responses that way.

The thing is advice does change. When me and my siblings were born mum's were told to put baby to sleep on their front.
I don't think YABU though. I would love a full night's sleep but there's no way I'd put my son on his stomach to achieve it. If I did that I'd sleep even less because I'd be checking on him every few seconds.
I really hope their babies are okay but it's not a risk I could take.
