To be so very painfully tired?

Expecting baby 2, have 2.5yr old DD who didn't sleep through the night AT ALL until she was over 2, by which time I was pregnant again. I have had relentless pregnancy insomnia in both pregnancies so in total I havent had a full nights sleep in over 3.5yrs
I am so bloody tired. I just want to drop to my knees!!!!!
OH works constantly and nobody is free to help out.
Am I currently being a bit of a dick for feeling sorry for myself or would others also be at the end of their tether with exhaustion?

Excellent points @kraai. I would back up that recommendation whole heartedly, half days go really quickly and you invariably find yourself doing all the little jobs you haven’t got around to in those few hours.

It sounds like your dc is lively enough to make it through a full day and enjoy it. It also alleviates some of your guilt if you know she’s getting lots of interaction and entertainment in that time.

Would a sleep consultant be possible to get your DC sleeping better? That might help you sleep better too. Ended up getting help for DC when I was 8 months pregnant the second time around and getting 3 hours sleep when working full time. So worth the money. Flowers

Ah, I'm right there with you. My baby is now 8 months old but still wakes frequently in the night. :( I have insomnia anyway so every time he wakes up it takes me forever to fall asleep again. My oldest is 3, so I don't think I've had a good night's sleep for about 4 years.

I just returned to work on Thursday which is a relief. My 3yo doesn't nap so I wasn't getting any rest in the day anyway, but at least now I get a lunch break and time to drink a hot coffee. Working is easier than parenting for sure.
