To bring up footner again on MN

Day 6 this morning (did the treatment Saturday night) and yesterday had some peeling but nothing like what I hoped for, and today my feet seem quite dry and not too peely. I do have quite hard skin on my heels and it's not that soft where I've already peeled.

Just need to know if the peeling will continue or is this really it!? Anyone else had it go like this?

Day 5 here and not even one single flake Sad

I used to only use Footner then someone (I think on here) mentioned using other brands. I got these on Amazon & I'm peeling now. Get 2 pairs in the box. [I can see they seem out of stock with that seller, so maybe check other sellers]

Footner is SO bad for your skin. It might not be pretty but your skin has hardened as a defence mechanism and removing that hard skin will only hurt your feet long term.

@saltysally sorry to hear that! You mean harder skin?

I get a pedicure every month as maintenance as I get really dry skin on my heels. However, as an alternative if you're impatient like I was at the beginning, a lot of salons do a callus peel treatment. It's some kind of chemical they put on your heel and it makes the dead skin peel off in a sheet - bit gross but your feet are as smooth as a baby's bum afterwards!

What the hellis footner?

FizzyIce · 03/01/2020 09:04

I’d never use footner again .
My feet peeled for weeks and it made them extra sensitive which I hadn’t thought about ,so shoes that didn’t use to rub me became unbearable and I got lots of blisters .
The dry skin is usually there for a reason !
I’ll stick to the foot file and lotion

I really don't understand why people put acids like footner on their skin. It can do a lot of damage long term. Why not get a decent pedicure or go see a podiatrist a couple of times a year and then maintain with a foot file and foit moisturizer

I hate the tight weird feeling the foot peels give where your skin feels stretched.
Also I got an all over my body itch the last time I used a version (Lidl one I think). It was quite scarey.
I just bathe my feet daily in Epsom salts and child’s farm moisturiser - and they’re fine - consistency and all that.

Just done mine. Been shedding skin like a snake these last few days.

Lovely!

The soaking does help. I wonder why its not in the instructions?

Freddiefox · 03/01/2020 12:43

Keep soaking but I found where the skin was really hard it didn’t work that well, and it worked in parts but it just ended up with spilt heels which really hurt

Talcott2007 · 03/01/2020 12:52

'Baby Foot' available via Amazon is the best I have come across for a proper foot peel. I shed like a snake! It was like I had whole new feet!

Honestly just buy Newton sponges and the jobs done
