I hear they're good for anxiety and calming etc but also I'm a big fan of cozy lighting and autumnal colours. I'm a big reader though... if I bought one for my bedside table would it light up the room enough to see?

I have one in my living room, it's on pretty much constantly. The cat and dog don't lick it but I've caught ds daring dd to lick it

I have two, one normal like above and another that is a tea light holder. Love them both!

I have candle ones and my cat doesn't go near it. They're such a lovely soothing glow.

Whenever I see these salt lamps, I feel such an urge to smash it.
No idea why - and I'm not an angry person - but they just look so ... smashable.
Just me then? Grin

It would be similar to reading with a dim nightlight. But get one just because they are so nice! Never heard that before about cats. Our cats never paid any attention to ours, and my ds & dil have one at his place too and their cat is not interested in theirs either. However our one cat liked liking plastic bags very much!

I have four and two cats. No one has ever licked them. They are beautiful and warm. I have a white one that helps DH with his seasonal affective disorder..

I love my salt lamp.

I caught my daughter licking the lamp and when asking her why it turned out that the whole family had had a little taste. Why? What a bunch of weirdos.
