Am tlakign about Birds eye (ofcourse) 100% 'fish' (although not cod.. hehe) in particular, the new ones, the Mega ones in '5 types of cereal breadcrumb coating mixture'...

They have fish in them = Good
They are processed = Bad

They Kids like them and will eat them all up = Good

They only take 20 mintues to cook in oven = v. v. good!

I cant stand fish so am unlikely to cook other types of fish fo rthem, sav, in batter, or tinned tuna...

So, do you class them as healthy or not?

The 100% fish fillet ones aren't that bad in the grander scheme of things. But then I like them so much I buy them for me

only problem is that they are perhaps a bit high in salt for under 1s.
fish fingers peas and ketchup is actually a good balanced meal with all food groups represented fairly.

Lets not forget though that chidren don't know that they are actually not that bad for them.

Ds loves them and because they were taken off his nursery's lunch menu when they went over to a healthier eating plan, he thinks they are a great treat kindly allowed by mummy which must be accompanied by at least one portion of healthy vegetables which have to be eaten up too in order to justify having the fish fingers.

I had a 'bad mother ' moment over fishfingers and made homemade ones. So not worth the effort imo.

(also stupid really as it was one of the only things i could keep down when pg so he'd already had his fill. some little boys maybe made of slugs, snails and puppy dog tails mine is 100% fishfinger, cheese and pickle sandwiches and plain crisps)
