To ask how much you spend on a kids birthday present?

I have two kids 6 and 9 and they're always going to birthday parties (their social lives are far superior to mine). Most weekends there's at least one if not two parties between them and frankly the presents mount up. I bulk buy 3 for 2 type things where possible and end up spending about £13 per kid. Is that really tight?

If it’s a school party, I put £5 in a card with a £1 Haribos etc...

For their close friends I put £10 with the child’s favourite treat.

5 - 10 pounds is fairly standard I think.

When DC were at the local primary £5-10 was fine. We moved them to a private school......Shock. Easily £20-30 as standard. My DC have had gifts worth more than what we’d spend on them! I still stick £10 in a card. The other parents are probably horrified at me.

Normally around £10 per child.
If it’s a close friend then £15
