Our lodger (just here for a few months) brought our kids perfect aged and content books in English (not the language here or where the lodger comes from) but our kids are learning it. No expectation of anything in return and seemed really pleased when they thanked him (kids are 4 and 6 and haven't really spoken to him before).
Anti cf at it's best!

What does that even mean

constantlyseekinghappiness · 31/12/2019 18:32

@littlemeitslyn

The OP is talking about things people have done which has surprised them in as positive way.

Not hard to understand one might think.

paranoidmum2 · 31/12/2019 18:46

That's lovely, OP! Our workplace wrapped up thousands of presents for hospitals and other institutions in recyclable paper.

Generallybewildered · 31/12/2019 19:06

Thank you paranoidmum.
My son has received 3 presents in hospital over the past few stressful days. They were much appreciated. Grin

My daughter received lovely presents donated to the children’s ward at the hospital.

Our neighbours who we barely see out £5 in our 2 years old xmas card. Such a sweet thing to do. Smile

twoshedsjackson · 31/12/2019 20:25

My (relatively) new neighbours presented me with a posh tin of biscuits - completely unexpected, because I've been a good neighbour and taken in some of their parcels!

Disfordarkchocolate · 31/12/2019 20:30

Your lodger sounds lovely OP. I had my daughter visit for Christmas and she was a delightful guest, nothing out of the ordinary but a lot better than some people's experience.

DisappearingGirl · 31/12/2019 20:33

My DPIL when visiting this xmas brought their own bedding with them to save us on washing faff (we had three lots of family visiting in a week and don't have a tumble dryer), and my DM brought a meal when she came.

ChikiTIKI · 31/12/2019 20:36

My auntie was given Christmas presents by some of the nurses who are working on the hospital ward she is staying on ❤️

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 31/12/2019 20:37

We had two friends come for Christmas with generous gifts of wine, schnaps and home made sausages. Grin
