My partner is very outdoorsy and is into mountains, hills and camping. He hinted he thought I would be too overweight and unfit to keep up with him. Am I being unreasonable being annoyed by this. Lots of overweight people go camping!! Hmm

I think that your DP is being a bit of a twat. However, and I don't mean to sound horrible, he may be right about hiking with him.
The camping should be fine, but if you arte unfit you won't be able to keep up with him if you are both hillwalking.

However, as PPs say, he can do some less strenuous walks with you. and take himself off for more extreme adventures.

I was in your position, my DH is really fit and we did some hill walking before kids and I really struggled. My DH was lovely though; he waited for me and we had some really nice times.
After kids I started running and doing Pilates and the hillwalking is much more enjoyable as I could keep up much more. I think that people underestimate how physical hillwalking actually is. It's not just a little stroll, it can be hours and be hard physical graft.

I'm struggling to see that you would be overweight as a size 12 and 5'10".

I'm 5'7" and a size 12, and I am not overweight.

This sounds like quite a new relationship.

You don't sound particularly overweight by any means - and if he's making you feel unhappy in your body, tell him to piss off. I'm about your height and a size 14 and a very regular exerciser and I feel great.

Fitness comes quite quickly once you start working on it regularly. Could you do C25K and do a bit of strength training? Maybe find a friendly circut class? It doesn't mean you'll burn fat on that, but in terms of your cardio and strength - that should improve quite fast.

If you start building up to reasonably hard work outs a few times a week, you'll easily be fit enough to keep up with him on his little camping trip come (what?) spring? And being fit is pretty fun!

But that said, fuck him - you don't have to change yourself if you don't want to!
