To hate when people knock and look through the letterbox?

Just that really. You know when you don't hear them knocking or quick enough to open the door, they then bend down to look through the letter box. Almost feels like they're trying to catch me being in! 🙄

Ranting here, but our hammering chancers are also the dim sort that seem to assume that our house and our neighbour's are the same. We can tell that because we can hear them hammering at her door before loudly harumphing and then coming to our door to peddle their shoddy wares.

Two houses, two different colours, two drives, two satellite dishes, two front doors and - get this - two different numbers. But still, they apparently can't grasp the fact that two separate houses might be attached.

I think it's rude to look through the letterbox especially if they don't wait long enough for you to answer but one of your points is 'don't hear them knocking' so how would you know anyone was there if that happens ?
