Would you go to the doctor for this?

Hi all have come up with these marks on the back of my arm today. There is just two of them no itching or anything. Any ideas?
For background I had an allergic reaction on Christmas day but just on my face and I am also prone to ezcema. Never had marks like this before. Would you go to the doctors due to the bad allergic reaction as it could be linked or just head to the pharmacist? My first thought was ring worm but doesnt look like any pics online really!

Would you go to the doctor for this?

I’d take an anti- histamine. If it goes away, it’s an allergic reaction Smile

If not, pharmacist...

Tombliwho · 27/12/2019 13:11

I think I'd take an antihistamine and see how it goes.

StrongerThanIThought76 · 27/12/2019 13:14

Pharmacist, antihistamine.

BloodyCats · 27/12/2019 13:15

What they said ^^

Ifixbrokenthings · 27/12/2019 13:16

Antihistamine and pharmacy sounds reasonable, if its just there and not tracking. It doesn't look like ringworm from the photo .
Obviously if it spreads, or your airway is compromised, please see a doc or ANP ASAP.

Msgiggles30 · 27/12/2019 13:16

Yes thanks that was my thoughts. I have strong antihistamine I will try those and maybe visit pharmacist. Am hoping it's not ringworm 😫

It does look very similar to ringworm (dd had it a few weeks ago.) But yes I would show it to a pharmacist before trying to get a GP appt.

madcatladyforever · 27/12/2019 13:23

It looks very much like exacerbated eczema or dermatitis to me.

LadyShrek2k19 · 27/12/2019 13:25

Had you just got out of the shower / bath when you took that pic? I get marks like that after a shower on my arm and I'm pretty sure it's just a patch of dry skin, and it's been worse the last couple of days because of being indoors and the heating on (I'm a slob at Christmas!) Bit of moisturizer and 10 minutes and good as new.

Or, antihistamines and pharmacist as others have said. X

MrsJoshNavidi · 27/12/2019 13:26

I've had similar blotches a couple of tones in the last 2-3 years. It's not ringworm, but GP and pharmacist didn't know what caused them.
They got bigger and bigger for about a week/10 days, then gradually faded away.

I couldn't put it down to eating anything out if the ordinary, change of washing powder etc etc.

I wonder if I'll get them again sometime.

MrsJoshNavidi · 27/12/2019 13:26

*Couple of times, not tones.

ViaSacra · 27/12/2019 13:35

Definitely not worth a GP appointment if the marks have only appeared today.

If they’re still there in 5-6 days, then maybe try and get an appointment.

Msgiggles30 · 27/12/2019 13:35

Thanks all will pop to pharmacist. I really hope it's not something contagious but I do get skin issues so probabaly more likely something you have suggested. No I noticed before I had got in the bath. Last had a bath yesterday morning so could have been there yesterday too

That looks exactly like the eczema patches DD gets, does it feel slightly raised and dry? Do you have any of the eczema cream you usually use?

81Byerley · 27/12/2019 13:46

I'd ask the pharmacist first. They will tell you if you need to see the doctor.

Msgiggles30 · 27/12/2019 15:54

Pharmacist said definitely not ring worm either a side effect of facial reaction on Christmas day or some ezcema. Said to take my prescription antihistamine daily and gave HC cream. Phew
