NC as feel gross

Every night for the past 4-6 weeks I’ve been waking up in the night absolutely DRENCHED in sweat to the point it’s started to wake my DH up because I’m soaking wet.

Tried different bedding, sleeping in different pyjamas, no pyjamas, nothing seems to make any difference. Had the window open last night and woke up at about 3am soaked once again.

Am 30 so don’t think it would it would be menopause symptoms which is all Dr Google seems to bring up.

Is it just something normal? Or WIBU to go to the doctors about it?

That’s not normal and yes absolutely go to the doctor. You can have the menopause that young, again not usual but it could be something else.

CustardT · 27/12/2019 08:50

It could be the menopause at 30. 1 in 10 women now have early menopause in Oz.

But it could also be something else. I think you should see the Dr. And get the menopause ruled in or out. Because if it’s not the menopause you need to know what it is.

PurpleDaisies · 27/12/2019 08:53

This needs checking.

funmummy48 · 27/12/2019 08:56

I think infections can exhibit themselves like this. When I had a tooth abscess, the first sign of it was me waking up drenched in sweat. I would get it checked.

Powerbunting · 27/12/2019 08:56

Please go to the dr. There are scarier things than an early menopause that can cause such things.

NomNomNomNom · 27/12/2019 09:02

Definitely something to see the doctor about.

VolcanionSteamArtillery · 27/12/2019 09:03

And less scary. Vitamin D deficiency in my case. Get thee to the Gp

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 27/12/2019 09:04

I had this a few years ago in my early thirties. Turns out I have hashimotos - an immune disorder that attacks your thyroid. Not sure if this is relevant to you but I also run cold, I also found out I have Reynauds phenomenon and I realised the sweating was made worse as I'd bundle into the bed to warm my hands and feet, then superheat when they've heated. I now have some wicking sports socks for when it's really cold and an electric blanket to warm the bed before I get in it. Both are game changers for me.

But yes, see your gp. There's other medical issues other than menopause that can cause this.

Fluffyunicorns · 27/12/2019 09:06

Yes go to the doctor - not likely but night sweats were one of the early symptoms of my first husbands Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.
As I said not likely but not something to ignore either.

Ohyesiam · 27/12/2019 09:09

Yes, night sweats need investigating.

Threepe · 27/12/2019 09:23

Hi I would definitely go to the doctor about this ,it really is best to get it check ,don’t leave it on the long finger ,get it sorted soon

SnuggyBuggy · 27/12/2019 09:32

There are a lot of different causes for this so it would be a good idea to get some tests.

Winterwoollies · 27/12/2019 20:43

Pop along to the doctors, you may need a little blood test to rule some things out. Very unlikely things. Assuming you’re not losing weight, feeling poorly, have recently changed meds and are not drinking a ton of coffee just before bed, it could be one of those things. They’re very common. But I’d recommend a quick visit to the GP to be safe and they may have some recommendations to help with them.

Mrsmorton · 27/12/2019 20:45

I've had this for years sadly. Investigated for everything. Turns out it's idiopathic and I take medication designed to stop bed wetting. It changed my life. So if you go to the Dr, persevere.

Jollitwiglet · 27/12/2019 20:45

Night sweats should be checked out

Winterwoollies · 27/12/2019 20:51

Sorry I meant to say it could JUST be ‘one of those things’.

Whatsername177 · 27/12/2019 20:53

Another vote for seeing a gp immediately.
