Come marvel at my DH and his amazing Christmas Day ineptitude!

Firstly, he had a mug of coffee on the bedside table as he was hopping about trying to put his jeans on and somehow managed to put his foot in the coffee mug. To make matters worse, it was DDs mug, not even his, and she and all the other DC witnessed this. She has asked him to buy her a new one as she can never use this one again Xmas Grin

Secondly, he had kindly wrapped up a Christmas present for me and brought it down to the lounge and put it in his lap while everyone opened stockings/presents etc. After this interlude, he saw this present in his lap again and opened it thinking it was something for him (after all at least ten minutes had elapsed since he put it there himself Xmas Hmm) He was confused for a moment as to who had given him small fluffy pink slippers before the realisation dawned he had in fact just unwrapped the present that he himself had carefully wrapped up for me Xmas ConfusedXmas Grin

I'm now anticipating everyone telling me to leave this ineffectual man child Winkso may I just say this is fucking lighthearted and it made us laugh all day. I've probably made it sound actually not that funny Blush but if I tell you even the teenagers laughed, you may understand the level of hilarity Xmas Smile

It's the little things...

I’ve just been chuckling out loud to myself now thanks to this post! The drawing made it!

Madcats · 27/12/2019 12:15

King thank you for the lovely drawing.

I hope today is a little less troublesome for everybody.

MrsMozartMkII · 27/12/2019 12:38

Oh these have made me laugh Xmas Grin Thank you OP and all. The nearly putting the cat in the freezer made me howl. OP you need to frame that diagram!

I have to admit that these days it's usually me doing whappy things and DH looking on in kind and mildly concerned bemusement.

Very many years ago on Christmas Eve my lovely DF showed me a shoe box containing really beautiful shoes that he was about to wrap for my mum. He said that they had been carefully stored at the back of the wardrobe and he must have bought them in the sales. They were the shoes my mum has bought and worn to my wedding a couple of years before. And put away ‘for best’. I broke it to him very gently. Luckily he had some other things to give her.

And on DD1’s 18th birthday earlier this year we had bought her a lot of really nice things. I must have had a bit of a brainstorm though as one of the gifts she opened was a package containing her younger sister’s worn (though thankfully clean) bra and pant set. Fortunately she had so many other lovely presents she just laughed about it. But her face when she held it up and said ‘isn’t this ......’s underwear?” is something I’ll never forget! I still find it hard to fathom how I did that though.

LadyMacbeth I'm not married to your Dad am I? I seem to be married to a lot of men on this thread Grin

You'll be glad to know I have been mocking DH all day. I myself spilt some tea on the bedroom carpet before Blushand blotted it off, DH walked in shortly afterwards and said "what the fuck is on the floor, my sock is all wet!" I told him his sock was jealous of his other sock that got to swim in the coffee mug and I was just making them equal
