To just ask for some words of support and encouragement...?
First Christmas DH and I separated, in middle of divorce, spent Christmas Day all together which was nice but now he's taken 2 ds (4&2) to his family for the next 4 days (couple hours away) and I'm sad. My family is a few hours away and am seeing them next week and can't get down for the next few days.
I know people have their own lives and things going on but no one at all has even text to see if I'm ok even though everyone knows I'm on my own.

I'm just sat crying in an empty house full of the boys Christmas presents and feel so lonely Sad

Have been there, have you got a book or a movie you can watch? A note pad and pen to make lists and thoughts of what you would like to do over the next year, places to go.
Also, text some of your friends and ask if any are around over the next few days. Yes it is a shame none have called, but as you say it's a very busy time, see if anyone is free for a coffee. If not plan to be out anyway, a walk, the cinema or theatre on your own - it's very liberating. You get a bit more used to it and your job in these few days is rest recuperation and relaxation. Even cleaning, sorting and declutterong and tidying drawers cupboards, things to the tip, anything to start the new year bright. Food shopping, batch cooking. Don't spend the whole time upset, the children will come back and you won't have calmed your nervous system and be rested xxx

I am sorry you’re feeling sad Flowers for you and lots of empathy. My 3DC (all older but still hurts as much) have gone to spend the next couple of days with their Dad and his family for the first time at Christmas since we separated 18 months ago (his decision). It was heart wrenching watching them drive away this morning. My house feels very empty and quiet and I too have been very tearful. I am planning on having a hot bath and then lying on the sofa with the dog having a glass of something and watching a film. Hope you can do the same. Time heals and I hope it will get easier for both of us

I'm in the same boat op ...

Is there anything on the tv you can watch?
I've spent all morning in bed watching catch up tv eating chocolate for breakfast drinking tea.
Tonight I'm going for a sleepover with my best friend and her son ...

Could you get stuck into a Netflix series or find something you enjoy just for you? Maybe a bath?

R2G has nailed it - allow yourself the wallow, then get on with all those things that you never get the time to do, as well as getting some r and r for you
