I really want a Fiat 500

I really, really want one. I love small cars (easy to drive/park etc) and love their quirky, retro look. My friend has one and says they are really economical and great to drive etc. However, dh says they are crap (he likes big vehicles and drives a discovery). He keeps putting me off saying they are shit looking and a crap car in general and if I get one I’ll regret it.
I only drive about locally so not likely to be regularly driving miles or on motorways etc so I think it would be perfect.
Any Fiat 500 owners out there, are they any good?

Love mine. Had it for 6 years now.

A good friend of mine had minis for years. She fancied a change and got a Fiat 500. She had it about 3 months, hated it. I have a smart forfour which I love but he's being traded in on Monday. I'm actually quite sad.

Fiats are notoriously unreliable

in the what car survey of most unreliable cars 2019 Fiat was right up there.... at 19th.

So notoriously unreliable that they didn’t even make top ten. Grin

I have an automatic blue one and love it to bits! I originally hired one whilst my old car was in for repairs and loved it so much I had to go and buy one! I haven't driven the very basic model, but I have driven 3 different ones, none of which felt underpowered

We live in a very hilly city. Some of the hills are very steep. Never had an issue getting our various 500s up them.

Dd is 6'1" and he drives dd's 500 a couple of times a week with no problem. Whilst the boot and back seats aren't huge he can easily fit in the front.
