AIBU to ask her this? Is it weird?

I met ex’s new girlfriend last weekend, when I dropped the kids off. Normally he picks and drops them off, but I took them out for the day so dropped them off myself. That’s when I met her, shes really nice. She invited me in, and we had a chat. She’s a nursery teacher, left her old job and after Christmas will be working in a nursery literally 1 mins walk from me same road, they’re coming round today to drop presents off. AIBU to say that she can pop round for a cup of tea on her breaks? I’m home anyway as I take DS3 to nursery at 1pm. Is it too early for stuff like this? I don’t know if she would be a bit Hmm, what would you think if you were the girlfriend?

How long have they been together?

I think it’s probably a bit early and you’d he better getting to know her a bit more before getting too close.

I have a really good relationship with my partner’s son’s mum but we’ve been together nearly four years and only now would I think about inviting her over just to see me (at the moment we will stop in for coffee and a chat at each other’s houses but only when picking up/dropping off her son).

Too much too soon.

It's Christmas, she met you for the first time and invited you in for a chat.

I'd see what happens in the future, but leave things as they are for now.

I think it's awesome. My best friends ex (3 kids, 2 bio his, 1 not bio)and his gf (been together 15 years, no kids) have always got on. It's great for the DC. They all have Christmas together, help each other out, ex and gf are great friends.

She'll definitely get a break long enough to pop in, we do legally have to have the same breaks as everyone else...
I'd probably wait a while yet though, I think if me and my partner broke up and he started dating somebody new I wouldn't want to feel pressured into popping in every day (and there will be pressure because she won't want to snub you and then there be issues coparenting)

I think it's a lovely offer to her. If she's going to be a part of your childs life then it would be nice to get on with her and make her feel welcome
