AIBU to watch Christmas films after Christmas Day?

We haven’t really got around to watching that many this year and I noticed that there isn’t one Christmas film on the TV guide after Xmas day.

Will it feel the same after Christmas?

Of course yabu! It's against natural law to watch Christmas films after Christmas day and the Christmas police will be at your door if you so much as pick up the tv remote.

Or, you can do whatever the fuck you want in your own house as long as you're not subjecting anyone else to something they don't want to do.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 23/12/2019 22:38

Lol Grin

Thanks. Just don’t want to be the only family in the uk doing so lol

Well, since Christmas doesn't start until 25th December and goes on for 12 days, I'd say you're fine.

WorraLiberty · 23/12/2019 22:41

Thanks. Just don’t want to be the only family in the uk doing so lol

Would it spoil your enjoyment if you were? Xmas Confused

I listen to Christmas music all year round!

bookmum08 · 23/12/2019 22:42

Technically it's Christmas until January 6th.

Yerbumsootthewindae · 23/12/2019 22:42

I watch It's A Wonderful Life every year - one year I managed it before the big day but mostly I watch it on Boxing Day although one year I didn't have time until March. Still watched it though!

Redglitter · 23/12/2019 22:42

Seriously why on earth does it matter. If you want to watch Christmas films in July do it. You dont need permission

RoseMartha · 23/12/2019 22:47

Of course not you can watch them anytime

Greenbutterlfy566 · 23/12/2019 22:47

It’s hard to explain.

To me, It’s like when your watching something on the tv and you know others are watching it at the same time, it seems different?

Maybe it’s just me lol.

Why not? Something isn't right because everyone does it, nor wrong because only one family does it.

Allmyfavouritepeople · 23/12/2019 22:51

It makes me sad Christmas seems to start on the 1st of December and end on the 25th when really it shouldn't even start til the 24th. Tesco's seasonal aisle is back to world food and reduced Christmas stock already and its not even Christmas yet.

Then there's the people who have the tree down by noon on the 26th. The timings are wrong for me, I'm only just gearing up at the moment, not even got all my decorations up yet!

changedtempforprivacy · 23/12/2019 23:01

I am also a fan of the 12 days of Christmas. Decorating our tree on Christmas eve, it stays up until the 6th

managedmis · 23/12/2019 23:06

You're allowed until January 6th

Greenbutterlfy566 · 23/12/2019 23:14

Its as if everything to do with Christmas is over completely by Boxing Day. As if its weird for doing anything Christmassy after it.

1st December to January 6th is Christmas time so we will be watching Christmas films, listening to Christmas music, sitting round the Christmas tree and eating and drinking to excess for that whole time

BackforGood · 23/12/2019 23:24

Er, no. The 12 days of Christmas go on until 6th January.
The school Christmas holidays are until 7th January here.

So even putting aside the fact you can watch whatever you want, whenever you want, you still have the best part of two weeks that are still Christmas anyway.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 23/12/2019 23:36

I understand kids the are still off, so Why don’t they show Christmas films on tv do you think?

OP posts:
bookmum08 · 23/12/2019 23:58

Sony movie channel on freeview is your friend. A gazillion Christmas films on there. All day. Every day. (obviously they will change the line up eventually but it Christmas movies galore for now)

Greenbutterlfy566 · 24/12/2019 00:01

Book- thanks. I just wonder wh the other channels stop.

bookmum08 · 24/12/2019 00:12

Can't guarantee that any of the films are good ones though. A lot of cheesey made for tv ones Xmas Grin

Greenbutterlfy566 · 24/12/2019 00:21

Lol that’s ok

Smelborp · 24/12/2019 00:24

Christmas is only over on Boxing Day for shops as they can’t flog us gifts. Sadly that filters down so on Boxing Day there’s not a single mention of Christmas around and instead we get ads for summer holidays.

I like to rebel and celebrate the full 12 days of Christmas.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 24/12/2019 12:02

Yes it’s all about the shops isn’t it I suppose ?

OP posts:
ClashCityRocker · 24/12/2019 12:16

It irritates me. I'm sure when I was a nipper Christmas Eve/Day was just the beginning of the celebrations, culminating in New Year's Day with the bit in between still being 'Christmas'.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 24/12/2019 12:49

It is irritating
