I'm not going to have a heart attack or anything with all the saturated fat right..?

I'm not 'huge' but I'm not small either and pretty much all the excess weight is on my belly which I'm told is particularly bad for you as it indicates fat in your organs or something.

Have you read The Obesity Code by Dr Jason Fung? I urge everyone to read it, it may save your life and flip everything you thought you knew about nutrition on it's head. You will feel rough for 4 weeks while becoming fat adapted but your body will thank you. The Diet Doctor website has hundreds of keto recipes. Go for it. Once you read the book and understand all the peer reviewed studies relation to the food pyramid or the sad diet, you may be angry but you will also be blessed with knowledge and understanding about fat you never knew before. I LOVE KETO! I also love fasting. Grin

To get into nutritional ketosis you eat less than 20g of carbohydrate a day

Low carb is usually between 20-100g of carbs a day but you aren’t necessarily in ketosis

I did it for a few months before Christmas, lost more than 1.5 stone and felt amazing. I've taken a break for Christmas (enjoying the chocolates for a week!) but I'm planning to go straight back on in the new year.

It's the only diet (or, more preferably, way of eating) that I've done that I actively look forward to returning to because of the way it makes me feel.

Fasting done properly is very good for your body. It gives you amazing mental clarity too. We are designed to fast regularly.
