It’s official! All Nurse midwifery and other allied health professions students will receive a uni grant of at least 5000 from 2020! Also including those in their 2nd/3rd year of their degree too, Now Student nurses will be able to study and do training without having to struggle financially seeing it’s difficult to train and maintain a job too! Super doops!

It is great but does bug me that people only talk about nurses. Other professions are affected by this. All the allied health professionals. Physios, radiographers, OTs.....

They should do the same thing for trainee teachers rather than leaving them with between 9-20k of debt.

My son was delivered my a 1st year student midwife on her first ever labour ward placement
I think he was the 3rd baby she had delivered alone! Student nurses and midwives etc work full time jobs and get stuck right in.

It's not good enough for them.

I trained in 2004 and got £5k per year bursary. And I didn't pay any tuition fees. The cost of living has gone up and I feel so sorry for students now.
