To think it’s a shambles that we have a PM who won’t even admit to how many children he has?

If you go in BJ’s Wikipedia page it states, under personal details - Children - 4?
AIBU fo think someone of his standing should at least fess your to how many children he has? It’s the House Of Commons fgs, not the Jeremy Kyle show. I’m sure he’d have a lot to say about feckless fathers leaving mothers on benefits etc etc, but is he any different? No, it seems not. I read somewhere he has 6 or 7 children, at least two of which he ignores. And on LBC he avoided the paternity question with some meaningless waffle. AIBU to think it’s a disgrace?

I'm just more horrified at the amount of women that have been willing to procreate with him to be honest.

Yes, I couldn't care less if the man set up a sex swing in the kitchen of Number 10, but to not acknowledge how many children you actually have is just weird and gross. It's bad enough when it's Barry from down the road, but one would like to think that our Prime Minister could at least pretend he has some integrity.

I used to be so liberal that I was practically falling off the planet, but as I get older, I start to see why certain standards/expectations of behaviour exist. People can say "ooh but his personal life is his personal life, it doesn't reflect on his ability to do the job", but actually, it does. We all have a "face" we put on for work versus home, but we are essentially the same person. Fathering various children then denying their existence is a little different from making sure you always wear long sleeves to hide your tattooes in the office. People in various professions have to be very careful what they say/do/post publicly, and usually there's fairly sound reasoning behind that. No idea why it's different for the PM.

Can you imagine the vitriol aimed at a female political, prime minister no less, who refused to say how many kids she had as a result of extra marital affairs.

God they filled newspapers with essays on Teresa May’s shoes for fucks sake.

"His four children have a younger half-sister, Stephanie, who was born in 2009 - the product of an affair with art advisory Helen Macintyre.

Stephanie is the youngest of Johnson's children.

At first, he denied paternity and wasn't named on the birth certificate.

However, his relations were revealed after a 2013 court battle in which he sought an injunction to prevent her existence being reported.

It is not believed her elder half-siblings or her father have anything to do with her."

Nice

A woman with that sort of track record wouldn't even get within sniffing distance of being PM

Mintjulia · 20/12/2019 23:52

I’m not sure what relevance his children are to anyone else.

If someone came on here and criticised a woman for having children by more than one father, such mean spirited hypocrisy would get little support.

VanyaHargreeves · 20/12/2019 23:57

They gave Ed Miliband hell because he was in a steady partnership but wasn't married or on his kids birth certificates

But it's just fine for Boris to be an adulterous philanderer, who spreads his seed about and has a live in girlfriend.

@mintjulia
But surely it's not the children per se, rather the mean spirited unwillingness to acknowledge them

pigsDOfly · 21/12/2019 00:04

If only this were the only problem with him.

There is so much more that bothers me about Boris Johnson than the fact that he's impregnated various women.

Chloemol · 21/12/2019 00:14

I have no interest in how many kids he has

SheSaidHummingbird · 21/12/2019 00:20

Chloemol And apparently neither does he.

CharlottesPleb · 21/12/2019 00:30

If you don't know how many children he has, you don't know why he is not talking about them. It could be a matter of the unidentified parties' privacy/consent just as easily as anything else.

As for his sex life, it is a firmly established part of the modern British social code that what goes on between consenting adults behind closed doors is none of anybody else's business.
