I saw it on a comment on a thread earlier about Things you wish you’d never read on here , and another thread saying someone has lost the game . Everyone seems to understand it and I feel so lost ?!?

Help , please enlighten me ?

Can I please ask whether you are all serious when you say "ffs" and "dammit"? Are you genuinely really annoyed? Or are you just pretending for some sort of entertainment /amusement? Genuine question, as I feel like I am totally missing the point with these threads about The Game (and also missing the point about the Game itself).

How do people know how many days they’ve been on a roll. To know that you’d have to keep a record and to do that you’d have to think of the stupid game. So it’s nonsense isn’t it.

I've been winning for about 6 months until now.

To begin with, I had to actually Google the game about everytime it came up because I kept on forgetting wtf was this "game".
If I never bothered I'd have been winning for all my life.
Gutted.

It is nonsense, that's sort of the point of it i 'started playing' during my gap year, I almost had a decade running streak before joining mn (I know this because there's a decade between my gap year and having DD and I hadn't thought of ir inbetween) . But whenever it's mentioned it always reminds me of friends I met during my gap year which is nice.

I think I’ve been playing it without at all realising since mn introduced me to it around a year ago. As I haven’t thought of it at all since then I guess that means I was playing all along and bloody brilliantly too.
I’m guessing there are no leagues or rankings and obvs it’s not a team game and can’t have a uniform or scoring or a pitch or anything. . .
Right back to it in a little while . . .

JohnLewis, how do you know you've been on a roll since Easter? How do you know when you last thought of the Game? Or are all the declarations of it's been 6 months /I've been on a 2 year winning streak etc just made up?

HP I get your point about it reminding you of your gap year friends, and I guess it is nice to unexpectedly have something make you think of them.

I lost it last week when a friends child told me about it.
Prior to that probably the year before on here.
And before that... I’d say a good 10 year streak.

I was wondering if some here had a game diary or calendar entry. They’d need to hide it carefully only to be accessed when a fail happened, to check etc. Bloody hell maybe there are rules! And strategies !

Thank you @RhymingRabbit3! And HP. I was beginning to think everyome was just going to keep posting about their annoyance and winning streaks and not explain, as if it were some sort of in-joke.
Personally I'm not sure I see the appeal of acting annoyed/joking about it, but each to their own, and everyone has a different sense of humour and mine is obviously a bit rubbish in this scenario Grin

All this discussion about the Game has resulted in me losing it 15 times in the last hour. I must try harder Grin

For those asking how long do you know it's been - I always remember exactly the last time I lost and where I was/who I was with whatever so I can work it out fairly accurately! (0h and now I usually message DP as you have to announce you've lost!)
