To wish packaging for Christmas cards was not so noisy?

Despite an adulthood ambition to spend a leisurely day writing Christmas cards at my desk with nice music in the background, lovely cup of tea, enjoying the process and all the rest of it, the reality, since becoming a mum, has been that I end up doing it very, very late in the evening, at the last minute despite my best intentions.
I do enjoy doing it so don’t mind staying up late whilst the house is quiet and everyone is asleep plus I don’t seem to find the time to do it all in one go during the day in peace and quiet.
Every soddin’ year, I get pissed off with this bloody packaging they use for Christmas cards, it’s impossible to take them out of their boxes without making so much noise. Why oh why???
Anybody else agreeing with me?

I better get on with the job...

I buy packaging free cards. You can get them at galleries and art boutique shops. And Etsy. It's far kinder to the environment.

This is possibly the most ridiculous post I've seen all year.

HerRoyalNotness · 17/12/2019 05:35

Just ditch the cards. Save the environment in some small way

BillHadersNewWife · 17/12/2019 05:51

It's all very well saying to ditch the cards but some elderly people love them. These are people who aren't on Facebook and don't use the internet. They should have a card.

TowelStripes · 17/12/2019 05:57

Take them out the packaging during the day 🤷‍♂️

Tombliwho · 17/12/2019 05:58

Don't buy ones in noisy packaging every year..

Branster · 17/12/2019 05:59

😂😂😂 @ Legomadx2

I totally agree with the negative environmental impact, but I like sending actual cards, especially to friends and relatives abroad and elderly people I know, they might also like receiving them.

Oh BillhadersNewWife that would be a sensible option for a person who is organised and thinks ahead about Christmas, sadly, 18 years have proved that’s not me.

I order mine personalised in Black Friday sales. Recyclable and no noisy packagingGrin
And I am with you. I like sending and so like recieving physical Christmas cards.

They are usually in cellophane? It rustles a bit but I don't find it that noisy. Could you get out all you need in one go and put them in a shoe box or similar to hold them while you write?
