Should I have told the (disgusting) pharmacist to use a tissue?

I was in Boots today buying some box set Christmas presents. The pharmacist was helping out at the till and with wrapping. She had a stinking head cold and cough and kept wiping her nose with either her hand or her wrist alternatively like she was waiting for the TMI snot to dry (I know totally disgusting!!). She also had such a red face that she must have had a high temp. Me and another shopper looked in horror at each other but neither of us said anything! I'm non confrontational and stayed silent while she took my card and wrapped presents. Now I think they're contaminated with her dose so I think I will unwrap them, spritz with anti-bac spray and rewrap. Her wrapping was dreadful anyway. Would you have said to her to at least use a tissue??

Why are people troll hunting here? There is a small Boots store in a village near us (google tells me population of around 1700). Its small. The size of a small Co-Op. it still sells perfume as does our village Lloyd's Chemist. The pharmacist at Boots works the till, helps out with wrapping (yeah they do that) as well as dealing with prescriptions. So there you go. It can and does happen.

As for you OP, the snotty hands alone would have given me the boak. I'm no get a phone but wiping a snotty nose with a hand and then handling goods is RANK! I would have picked up a pack of tissues, got her to ring them up, handed them back and said, "You need these!". Maybe it's the fact I was a chef but I take contamination seriously. Constant hand washing in my line of work was expected at the very least.

She should have used a tissue yes, that was a bit gross and she should have washed her hands too but if it was very busy then she might not have had time (I have worked in places where my manager has told me off for going to wash my hands after sneezing Hmm and I was supposed to continue serving customers!) unfortunately most people have to go to work when sick, or else they don't get paid and the amount of colds you can get in a year would mean that your at risk of losing your job if your off with each one. I know I can't afford to take a day off work for a cold.

People coming into work when they are riddled with germs drives me mad. Then everyone ends up with it. I spent last Christmas with flu after my boss came in ill. When I pulled him up on it said said he may as well be ill at work as at home. Thanks a fucking lot. I know you can’t avoid everything but her wiping her nose on her hand and wrist is disgusting.

@Instagrump and @Shesalittlemadam thank you! I really don't understand why some people on here get so wound up that they feel they have to troll someone! It makes me wonder what is really winding them up in real life....

She shouldn't have been working at all, boots is one shop more likely to get people in who are immune compromised or caring for those immune compromised than many others I'd say plus she was also dealing with pharmacy? So touching meds being given to sick possibly immune compromised people?

Yea she really shouldn't have been there. Very poor management.

I've 2 relatives with immunity issues I'd have walked out and then called head office to complain.
