AIBU to divorce DH over bathroom tiles?

We were supposed to order them yesterday but still not decided on anything. He has NO imagination whatsoever so anytime I say what "about X on the floor and Y on the walls?" he will say "I dunno, I would have to see it all together" Xmas Angry

I then suggest something random and he says "but I thought you wanted those grey ones??"

And when I showed him my Pinterest board for the millionth time he had the sheer audacity to say "wait so you don't actually know what you want? This is all very conceptual, you're just showing me elements of things you like?"

We wandered around B&Q all evening like this.

The bathroom is pretty big (17sqm for the walls and 4.5sqm on the floor) so we have to try and be budget conscious and the tiles I liked before buying a house are too many £ per sq m.

I am so so over this stupid bloody process. I wish we'd just gone to a bathroom designer.

I have one of those husbands. he has been 'advised' to say, "I don't mind," and not, "I don't care."
We are currently decorating the dining room. I decided on fabric for the curtains (will be making them too) but was not completely sure about paint. I had tried and discarded many and had it down to two. So yesterday I painted swatches of both on all four walls for him to view.

Me - Look at these please? Which one do you prefer - left or right?
Him - They are very similar.
Me - I know. I like them both.
Him - I would go with the one on the right, it's a bit lighter.
Me - OK.

Bit later
Me - The one on the left has dried lighter. Have another look?
Him - I don't know!!!
Me - Come on! It's important! One of them is £18 a tin, as opposed to £46 for the other one!
Him - I like the cheap one.

Reader, we bought the cheap one!

Post a picture of what you like and we’ll see if we can come up with a compromise

Well the bathroom currently looks like this, hence the urgency and panic.

I give my husband the choice of two or three options that I've narrowed down my preferences to, all of which I could live with. Sometimes they're very similar, sometimes they're quite different. He chooses, we go with it. Makes life much easier!

@BathHell looks beautiful OP, why bother renovating? Wink

Seriously just go for what you like. If he can't make a decision that's his problem.

Definitely just do it! It'll still look like that long into the new year, otherwise!

This company is in the south / SW and are brilliant. So helpful. I have the blue tiles shown in the bathroom example on homepage. They are fake crackle, so no issues with use in shower. There's about 8 patterns, 2 were too distinctive so I didn't use them. And just made sure no two the same were next to each other the same way round. I gets lots of compliments on them.

I love the deep navy. Not sure about using something quite so striking as we're not planning on staying here "forever". The kitchen is already getting deep green tiles which I am happy to go with as it's a small area.

DH loves the geometric one which is £60/sqm Hmm

I think we've negotiated mid-light grey on the floor and 3 walls and a feature wall behind the sink and toilet. Just need to find something which will go. And doesn't cost the earth.

P.S. sorry about your hideous ensuite, have you thought about leaving a candle in there in the hopes that it catches fire and you get to start again?

We're currently redoing our bathroom. I wanted patterned tiles on the wall and floor but so glad I toned it down, feels really calm like this.
Blue (!) Maison Belle tiles from Porcelain Superstore and Rustico cream tiles.

Just buy what you want… if he won’t pick, them take the matter out of his hands

That should read “ if he won’t pick, then take the matter out of his hands.”
