To be upset about viewing HA house

Went to view a HA house the other day and it was lovely and perfect for us, this was a bulk viewing there were two of us and the other people were first in line, obviously they accepted.
The housing officer came downstairs told us the other person wanted the house and that was it, the other person apologised and it was all just really awkward.
AIBU that this is a really awkward way of doing things
and AIBU to be upset about it I can't stop thinking of how perfect it was for us.

When we viewed this private rental, there were another 4 couples here at the same time. We only got it because we brought money with us to hold it

It’s a really shit way to do viewings and make such a big decision. As much as you won’t get your hopes up, you will.

Our last private rental we had to offer over to secure it as there were others interested, this one we had to say there and then after about a 2 second viewing.

I hope you find one soon.

I'm so sorry, and yes it's a dreadful situation t9 put you in. I'd ask the HA not to have this again. We usually know if a house is right from pictures and location before we physically see it.

I'd ask the HA not to have this again.
you can ask but why on earth should they give special treatment?

Viewings for rentals are very often done this way, in private lets as well. It's to get as many people in through the door and avoid time wasters.
