AIBU to say..... let’s get Christmas done

Now that it’s all over regardless of if we like the result. I am looking forward to Christmas TV and jollity. AIBU to ask how you will get Christmas done!

1. What are you looking forward to
2. What are you doing for others
3. What are you doing for yourself (yes it’s ok to be a little selfish.)

For me

1. Being off work and spending time with the people I love and watching DH and DS open their gifts.

1. We did a reverse advent and some local toy drops. I want to do more next year so going to look into it.

1. Gin, I am looking forward to having a couple of Gins ridiculous I know but after a nose operation alcohol tasted funny my tastebuds are coming back so a couple of gin for me.

I can’t smell atvthe moment but I think my house smells of pine and cinnamon I hope so anyway!

1. Looking forward to getting out of London and down to the seaside for a week. Indulging in lovely food and good wine. Forgetting about politics. Forgetting about work bullshit. Spending time with my lovely DH who is a workaholic but has got a rare TWO WEEKS off . Most of all, looking forward to my kids having lots of fun and spending some nice, relaxed time with them.
2. Not doing a huge amount for others this year. I work full time in a frontline ‘helping’ role, volunteer all year round on top of that, so feel like I’m allowed to not ‘do’ for others outside of my family for a few days!
3. A few lie-ins and some time to relax, watch films, walk by the sea. That’s all I need.

Cards done
Drinks sorted
Food still to buy
Heart in a mess - interred Dads ashes today - can’t believe I’ll never see him again!
