YABU for Tory
YANBU for Labour

Sorry, no options for others!

OP posts:
Racoonworld · 13/12/2019 06:44

Lib Dem. Not that unhappy with the result though, better than JC getting in. Sad because of Brexit, but there are other issues more important than Brexit, so very glad Labour didn’t win because of those.

ferrier · 13/12/2019 06:57

Just shows how disproportionately left wing Mumsnet is.

Not surprising really, given the relatively educated demographics

No .... it's the usual story of Tories not bothering to post because of the abuse they get from Labour voters. It was really quite clear early on that the Tories were going to win because on Mumsnet there were many more posters than previously who were prepared to stick their necks above the parapet.

bluesteakandcheese · 13/12/2019 07:29

Happily voted Tory. Not ashamed to say it. Me and my DH, and our families, and most of our friends and colleagues all voted Tory.
Tbh I think the attitude of some posters on here is disgraceful. Jumping down people's throats because they have opposing political views? I've seen some truly nasty stuff being said on here and it's pretty awful. How old are we; the last time I checked we weren't in the school yard!

Justgorgeous · 13/12/2019 07:32

My late mother would say. Never ask anyone about politics, religion or their salary. What business is it if yours OP?

Skyejuly · 13/12/2019 07:35

Labour and it was closer than ever in my area so I will be hoping for even better next time.

Moomin8 · 13/12/2019 07:37

YANBU

lowlandLucky · 13/12/2019 07:44

The Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

TisTheSeasonForMincePies · 13/12/2019 07:46

Not labour or Tories...

LawnsLT · 13/12/2019 08:03

britwifeinusa

I was going to say the same thing, sad as it is, homelessness is not new!

IsadoraQuagmire · 13/12/2019 08:06

I didn't vote for either (OR LibDems or Greens) but I was convinced Conservatives would win.

Nirvana1979 · 13/12/2019 08:07

SNP 💛
Bring on Indyref2

rattusrattus20 · 13/12/2019 08:19

tories got 44% in the real thing so, yeah, mumsnet leans left a little but hardly drastically so.

Ibizafun · 13/12/2019 08:20

I voted Tory because I knew Corbyn would LONG TERM run the country to ruin. I was all for the immediate benefit to the nhs and in particular easing poverty but I felt long term too many struggling families would be worse off.

Blitzen2 · 13/12/2019 08:35

SNP but I would have voted labour had I been outside Scotland.

For people to not vote or spoil their paper is a complete joke. You should be fined for this. It never makes a difference and parties do not care. People fought and died for your ability to do that.

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 13/12/2019 11:14

Oh, yawn. Heard it all before love. Why people feel the need to scold non-compliant women for not voting the 'right' (i.e. their) way, I'll never know. You made the right choice for you. I made the right choice for me. And those women who died for my right to vote would agree.

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 13/12/2019 11:14

.

Mumsnet poll - how did you vote?
SpudleyLass · 13/12/2019 11:37

I voted Monster Raving Looney Party. No regrets.

I served the candidate in our local shop a few times. Nice chap. Our local hospital is in dire straits and he was the only one visibly fighting to keep it open.

Reni73 · 13/12/2019 14:17

Voted conservative. All the other issues that need sorting like the NHS and education etc can't be sorted until we have Brexit resolved. I couldn't vote for JC because I genuinely believe him to be a danger to our security when you scrutinise his relationships with various terrorist groups and sympathisers. We didn't have a Brexit party candidate standing in our area. And I don't know how the Liberal Democrats can even call themselves that when they wanted to ignore the biggest exercise in democracy years.

ToffeePennie · 13/12/2019 14:51

I couldn’t vote for who I wanted because there is no representative in my area. So I did something else. Not telling what though

hellsbellsmelons · 13/12/2019 15:46

@Blitzen2
If people choose not to vote then is entirely up to them.
Women died to give women the right to vote.
It's NOT compulsory.
It's not a dictatorship. It's a democracy and if people want to abstain then that is entirely up to them.
As women we have the choice if we want to vote or not.
That's what they gave us - the choice, the ability.
If people don't know anything about politics and have no idea who to vote for then I'd rather they didn't vote at all!

I'm totally with @Reni73 on this one and all the reasoning!

reginafelangee · 13/12/2019 15:47

Well we know where you are coming from OP in your choice of which party to assign to YABU

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 13/12/2019 15:49

Not saying. It's private and democratic!!

Conservative actually, so I'm well chuffed.

Skyejuly · 13/12/2019 15:50

Chuffed Hmm

reginafelangee · 13/12/2019 15:52

@Blitzen2 For people to not vote or spoil their paper is a complete joke. You should be fined for this. It never makes a difference and parties do not care. People fought and died for your ability to do that.

Not caring, not being interested, not agreeing with any of the parties, abstaining etc are also democratic choices and freedoms.

The difference is does make is that parties do not factor in the needs of the non-voter because they do not matter electorally. That is what the non-voter misses out on.

However that is their right. Forcing people to vote isn't very democratic IMO. And I don't see what it would achieve. I also don't know how you would police prevention of spoiling votes without comprising ballot secrecy.

FriedasCarLoad · 13/12/2019 15:54

Boris (who isn’t Boris at all) Johnson

I know this isn’t your main point, but what do you mean by this?

Isn’t it a middle name, which he has always gone by? I have several friends who do the same.

Or have I missed something?
