No, of course I'm not BU! Smile

You or anyone else can take your completed, sealed postal vote to your local polling station, or to the Electoral Registration Office.

looking forward to tomorrow until then going to lay down in a dark room until it's over Grin

Sparklingbrook · 12/12/2019 12:32

I am about to do this. Do I post the envelope into the ballot box or give it to someone?

PerkingFaintly · 12/12/2019 12:35

I'm pretty sure you give it to someone. Anyway, you can ask when you get there.

I've always been the person writing the postal vote, not delivering it, so am going on reports from my messenger! (Who said sometimes staff are a bit flustered if they haven't dealt with one before!)

Why did this come up as a thread-with-a-vote?

More interestingly, why have 2 people voted that IABU to help people vote?Shock

Thank you for confirming this. I forgot to post DHs. (After he forgot to post it before going on his work trip- I don't do all his life admin!)

PerkingFaintly · 12/12/2019 13:40

Poster on another thread has added:

"You can drop your postal vote into any polling station in your constituency - I'm poll clerking right now so can confirm this is true."

I remember this being true, just couldn't find anything official to confirm it.

YABU for shouting at us.

beecrazy · 12/12/2019 13:47

And please hand it to the poll clerk, do NOT post it in the ballot box.
It will still be counted if you do but it does mess up the system

SilverySurfer · 12/12/2019 14:01

The voting buttons are now default - if you don't want them you need to click them off.

PerkingFaintly · 12/12/2019 15:34

Ah thanks, Silvery.

Still time to drop postal votes in.

My husband accidentally filled out my postal vote and signed it so threw it away. Anyone know if I can still go along and vote still if I take ID?

Baaaahhhhh · 12/12/2019 17:44

Lots of old folk dropping their postal votes off at our polling station. Bit odd, but I suppose they get a postal vote to err on the side of caution, just in case anything untoward happens.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 12/12/2019 17:46

@pickledsausage Postal voters are crossed off on the list of voters.

pickledsausage · 12/12/2019 17:57

@aroundtheworldin80moves meaning I couldn’t vote now?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 12/12/2019 18:00

I believe so but I'm no expert. They crossed people off as they came.

bridgetreilly · 12/12/2019 18:16

pickledsausage you should still be able to vote, but you will need to speak to the presiding officer and sign a form.

PerkingFaintly · 12/12/2019 19:17

Still nearly three hours left to vote.
