My 3yo son came in the kitchen the other day dancing and making buzzing shooting noises, I said, That's a nice song, what's it called?

Buzzy Bee BASTARDS.

(He can't say blasters, as in guns, it's always bastards. Hahaha!)

Back2Bali · 13/12/2019 22:44

Oh my God this thread is killing me!!! I have almost wet myself more than once reading through it

Hangingwithmygnomies · 13/12/2019 22:47

My 3.5 year old has been going around singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Ear" Grin

rumandbiscuits · 13/12/2019 22:48

My 20 month old LG has a book of animals and she's very good at pointing at each one and saying what they are or what noise they make. However when she gets to the page that the elephant is on she points at it and shouts 'mumma!!!' And then laughs her head off Hmm

Hangingwithmygnomies · 13/12/2019 22:51

Oh and he was playing with a doll just before bedtime yesterday, pretending it was ill. As it was bedtime I said "Oh no, you'd better take him to bed with you to help him feel better" to which said 3.5 year old looked at me like I was crazy and said "Mummy, it's not real, it's just a doll" 😂

Took my 4yr old to the baby show at Olympia in London in October (I’m 7mths and wanted him to feel included). We needed a wee and went into the VERY busy ladies room. There was a long queue but it was pretty quiet because they didn’t have hand dryers and people weren’t chatting.

Once in the cubicle my son went to the toilet first and while he was pulling up his pants, I swapped places with him and sat on the loo...

DS in a loud voice - “mummy, you have a beard!”
Me - “no I don’t, you monkey!”
DS - “yes you do - it’s a huge beard on your minnie!”

All I could hear was snorts of laughter from the queue and other cubicles!

I had to wash our hands and walk past them all with my son repeatedly singing “mummy’s got a Minnie beard!” Because of the reaction he got - he thought it was hilarous!!!

It kind of was lol

‘Mummy why is your belly all big and squishy now?’ 9 months post partum. Confused

Saturdaynamechange · 13/12/2019 23:07

When it's been raining my 3 year old loves splashing around in the "cuddles" in his wellies. So cute, I hope he never learns to say puddles instead!

FloreanFortescue · 13/12/2019 23:08

@MrsKCastle spare feet is fabulous Grin

Two from my now adult DGS.
Aged about 6 he came to visit and popped in to DH's office to say hello. DH remarked "Goodness DGS I'm sure you've grown since I saw you last!" He agreed and DH asked him how he knew. DGS replied "I know that Grandad because when I look down my feet are further away than they used to be!"
And this one is a classic. We took DGS to an evening theatre performance. When we arrived home and pulled on to the drive DGS remarked that we'd gone out and left the hall light on. I replied that yes we leave a light on when we go out at night so that naughty people/burglars think that someone is at home. After a long silence his reply was "So, burglars think we spend the evening in the hall?"
I have never left a hall light on since - always the front sitting room or a bedroom.

My DD5 had a go at my DH yesterday because he isn't doing enough to help me with Christmas, she overheard me telling my mum that I had to do all the shopping, wrapping, christmas cards, that I had even bought my own christmas present etc and took it upon herself to tell him off for it 🤣🤣

Back2Bali · 13/12/2019 23:32

@rainbowalicorn your daughter is amazing!

PotteryLottery · 13/12/2019 23:35

My DD didn't know the word my bra so called them "booby covers".

CheshireChat · 13/12/2019 23:43

Talking about looting a temple (why?!) with DS5 and I pointed out that it's a bad thing and a crime.

"It's ok mummy, we'll just kill all the witnesses and no one will catch us" Shock. N
Didn't manage to impress on him that murder is worse!

He also actually calls me 'ma-ee' which is short for my mummy.

Cattenberg · 13/12/2019 23:45

The other day, DD (21 months) and I bathed her dolly and wrapped her up in a towel. I said that dolly was “as snug as a bug in a rug”. Unfortunately, DD tried to copy me and said “snuggest bugger in a rug”.

I should have known better.

babyinthacorner · 13/12/2019 23:54

These are BRILLIANT!
My DS calls people ‘peoples’ which I love.
And 2 friends called Jamie so they go by their full name to differentiate. One of them is “Jamie Miff” (Smith) 🤣

RainbowAlicorn · 13/12/2019 23:54
  • @Back2Bali* I think so Grin she comes out with some corkers, but I can't think of any right now.
IceBearRocks · 14/12/2019 01:04

@Fligglepige.....my dancer and pointy fingered one is now 8 and still foes the same thing .....DH pointed out that I do it too!!

Madcatgirl · 14/12/2019 01:42

Ds is 9 and has been allowed to help lay the fire ready for me or dh to light. The things you put on it to help it go are called firefood.

The stuff in the can you spray to freshen the air or the thing in the car to cool the temperature, both are the air confreshener.

Rosspoldarkssaddle · 14/12/2019 02:24

Smallest sitting in the trolley seat whilst shopping. I used to give him the knob of the loaf as we went round. He decided one day to say thank you really loud...only it sounded just like fuck you mummy, fuck you!

Turtletotem · 14/12/2019 05:51

When my daughter was 3 she asked if an episode of Peppa Pig could also be known as a pepisode....
Another of my daughters came home from school one day aged 5 and announced that her teacher wasn't in today because she wss out 'on a horse'.....

Natsku · 14/12/2019 06:02

I just remember what DD used to say when stamping on icy puddles. I said it's fun to crack the ice isn't it and after that, whenever we came across an icy puddle (which was a lot on the walk to daycare) she'd shout loudly "I love crack!" and if we ran out of puddles "Want more crack!!"

HemlockStarglimmer · 14/12/2019 07:18

Messing about in the pool when my daughter was about 6. She was trying to stand on my bent legs and then launch herself off. Eventually she gave up saying “I can’t stand on your thighs, they’re too gelatinous”!

PixieDustt · 14/12/2019 07:40

My DS is only 5 months but it makes my day when he proper chuckles. It's so funny. It's over the littlest things too 😊

feckinarse · 14/12/2019 08:28

My DS2 went through a stage of really enjoying long words, saying them with great relish, but not being quite sure when to stop.
For example, Daddy went to Washingtondon DC for work, and then we had hamblederbleburgers for lunch.

It was lovely! (wistful sigh)
