To not know who to vote for -Wantage constituency

Help! I want to vote tactically to keep the Tories out (unlikely I know but worth a try!) I thought this would be Lib Dem but looking at the data from the last election it was Labour who were in second place... Does anyone with any knowledge of the Wantage constituency have any advice? Thanks!

A quick google through websites you can check your postcode against suggests voting labour for a tactical vote as per your above based on the last election

Unlikely to happen given the huge majority of the Conservative and Unionist party but yes, it’s a Labour vote you need 🤞🏻

Took a screen shot of one of the websites.

To add, I am not sure on who made the website but seeing as the Labour came second last time, I think it’s accurate for what you want

As @pootroll said, the Tories won by a difference of over 27% so it’ll take work to get them out of your area

My advice is to stop thinking about tactical voting and what everyone else is choosing to do with their votes.

Here are a couple of useful websites that help you work out which policies best align with your personal opinions: Vote for Policies and I Side With.

If you answer the questions, they will give you a percentage breakdown of which parties are closest to your own opinions. Vote for the one that most closely aligns with your views. It's not going to be a 100% match with any party but it will definitely help you decide - and it will be your own decision instead of someone else's. GL and happy voting! x

Unfortunately if you want to keep the Tories out, tactical voting is the only way to go. My policies mostly align with the Green Party - however I live in a Labour Tory marginal so voting Green would be dangerous. It’s all very well to say blindly vote for policies but the FPTP system is unforgiving and you risk wasting your vote.

We voted tactically and went Lib Dem as that's what the website said?

Pipstelle · 12/12/2019 13:41

The Tory who won by 27% isn't standing again so it's anyone's race. We also voted remain. I don't think this is a safe seat for the tories.

I thought Wnatage was Ed Vaizey's seat? Is he standing down? Shame if he is, he was a lot more centrist than most of them.
