As title suggests, aibu for asking why people trust the Tories with the economy?

Exactly. They also like to portray themselves as the party for business. All they care about is hedge funds.

The economy is only slow because no one knows what will be happening next. Once the general election is over and there's some clarity on where the UK is going then businesses will start investing again.

The Labour policy is the worst of all worlds as it drags things out even longer.

voteJC · 12/12/2019 09:01

Better to vote labour xx

stayfit · 12/12/2019 09:08

Its also a result of world wide recession? I don't think any party in power can magically change that imho. I voted labour last time now I can't imagine doing that.

Babdoc · 12/12/2019 09:15

Would you seriously prefer Labour nationalising our industries at eye watering cost? Of high earners and businesses moving abroad to escape Corbyn’s punitive taxes? Of the pound crashing in value?
And if you’re female, are you happy with Corbyn’s promise to allow self ID, for any predatory man to claim to be trans and access women’s changing rooms, refuges, showers, toilets, sports teams, without any medical assessment, surgery or hormone treatment at all?

stayfit · 12/12/2019 09:42

@Babdoc great points. I agree and this is first time I didn't vote labour and voted Tory for same reasons.

Do you have any idea what a hedge fund actually is ? Hint - it’s not about shrubs.
