we have been eating these for many years. Recently when we try to cook them; even for ten minutes they remain doughy, claggy and make us retch. When cooked they no longer resemble crumpets with the little hole. Just a lump of dough.

I always found Warburtons too doughy. Actually prefer Tesco and Morrisons own brands as they're more airy.

Did you accidentally buy the gluten free version? They're always doughy and claggy even after near incineration!

Cook them for ten minutes ???
surprised they're not cremated!

I have gone back to them recently - better than most supermaket own brands.
I did find square toaster shaped ones earlier in the year - great idea.
I haven't tried them yet, but I have christmas tree shaped ones that I got at the weekend - Asda I think.

Fine both here and when transported to Belgium. The giant ones are great, but dh usually gets to them before I do.
