AIBU?

To think I don’t need to be told how much bread to order

DS has been having cereal instead of toast for the last few nights so we have around half a loaf more than we usually would, DP told me I need to keep an eye on the bread situation.

AIBU to think I am a grown adult who is quite capable of this and it really does not need to be commented on!

Did you ask him to clarify what he meant, @Mamsnetter2020? And then come straight back here.

(@messolini9 I did! There is a NighteyesLovesGingerbread too. I almost cried when I saw the name.)

Michael Caine would obviously have to star in the film The Bread Situation.

Too much yeast has been added and it's only gone and blown the oven door off!

I can’t believe no one has picked up on the very serious implications to the cereal situation! This weeks Tesco shop it going to be one of my most challenging yet! 😂

How are things this morning OP...I barely slept due to the worry about the BreadSituation

Bread Pudding is a good call for this evening though...just bang it down on the table without comment.

When I worked for the civil service, I kid you not, we had to have a discussion about "the biscuit situation!" I'd only been there a few days, it was like something from "Yes Minister" (old tv programme for the young uns!) It was surreal.

Your DP is unreasonable for referring to "the bread situation". YABU for thinking he cannot make comments on it. Where has he told you how much bread to order? Is there more to this? Does he often make comments you find annoying? If not, it sounds like you are perhaps being over-sensitive.

If you have an elf of the shelf, surely he can be purposed to monitor the bread situation.

I feel he has demonstrated very poor leadership skills and needs to read the ‘Book, Basic Management For Dimmies”

He will learn from this, that “it is not enough just to alert your staff that a crisis situation is imminent. To do so will just cause a panic. You must explain the consequences of the crisis and out line in simple, achievable steps, how the crisis can be averted. If this strategy fails, the next step is to deal with the ensuing chaos. Again this should be explained in a calm, reassuring voice, without causing distress to the staff”.

Shit, the bread situation is critical here! Your post reminded me I hadn't popped the bread in the freezer, it doesn't last long in our tropical climate. It's bloody green moldy!!!

Grin

DP knows better than to try this.

Last bread related conversation in this house went like this:

Dp : mournful sigh Theres no bread for my toast.
"Oh dear that's a pity"
Repeated louder mournful sigh in case I hadn't heard it...answered by an eye roll
"What shall we do?"
Eye roll becomes higher
" WE will do nothing I don't eat bread"
" what about the DC?"
" They are eating porridge "
" they dont like porridge they want toast "
Over exaggerated crane of neck to look at ds2 happy porridge covered face and empty bowl with well timed raised eyebrow
Huge mournful sigh that reverberates the house
Eye roll hits the ceiling
" I'll walk all the way to the shop to get some then"
" the one at the end of the road ? Try not to let the wolves get you"

He doesn't bother now GrinGrin

@transformandriseup I find it difficult to believe 20 extra loaves for scouts is an issue 😂😂😂 I’ve catered for ours in the past #StarvingTeens

Maybe you could get one of those Amazon rapid order buttons. Empower your DH to take control of his own Bread Situation?
