..You can't even afford sanitary products Sad

This is absolutely not a begging post. I've been on Mumsnet long enough to know people become suspicious or MNHQ intervene and the thread gets shut down.

What I'm really asking for is if anybody could point me in the right direction for some help. My period is really heavy, I only have 2 sanitary pads left and I'm worried about leaking.

I don't have family that I can ask for money and I don't get child benefit until next Monday.

Does help even exist for these sorts of problems?

If you let us know roughly where you are I'd almost guarantee someone would be able to help you with san pro.

I was less than a week pp and she's now nearly 5. Still use the muslins to clean school shoes!

I prefer cheeky wipes period pants personally.

It’s awful when you run out of something essential like this, and it’s so easy to do. I try to remember to stock up,when I do the payday big-shop, but it’s not always successful, and then you can so easily get caught short.

I hope you’ve got it sorted, @alfieandmummy . If you’re in Yorkshire, feel free to send a pm and if I’m near I’ll happily drop some around.

Flannels or cut up an old bath towel for time being. Save pads for night.

When you get cash, buy some reusables which will last longer.

I've been there OP and its really shit so I have bucketfulls of sympathy for you.

I've grabbed handfuls of napkins from anywhere I could, used flannels and begged for some from my GP - it is humiliating and I wish I could pop round with a load of stuff for you.

Do you have a children's centre close by? Baby Clinic running tomorrow? If you can, go along and see if you can chat to a health visitor. But my first call would be to one of my friends. I would be really upset if they couldn't ask me for some tampons or pads.

Best of luck.

Op download the app called QMee it's for surveys. Fill some in and you can transfer anything from 1p of your earnings plus to a PayPal account then from there to your bank account. Has saved me many times when I needed change in my account. There aren't surveys all the time but I average about 50p up to £4 a day depending how many I get

Hello everyone, just re-iterating,

We've had a number of reports from people concerned about this thread so, as we usually do in these circs, we're putting our heads round the door with some important reminders.

Right now we can't see any evidence to indicate that the OP isn't above board – if we did, we'd remove the thread straight away. But the truth is that, sadly, we at MNHQ can't know with 100% certainty that any poster is genuine, no matter who they are or how long they have been here. As frustrating as it is, we're not able to vouch for anyone here.

So we always ask users to remember that not everyone on the internet is who they say they are – and remind folk not to give more to another poster, either financially (in cash or gifts) or emotionally (in time or care and support) than they'd be prepared to lose if things went wrong. We strongly advise against parting with any cash or giving away your personal details, and if you receive a PM which makes you uneasy - report it to us and we’ll take a look.

Sorry to hijack your thread briefly there, OP – we really hope you get it all sorted soon. In the meantime, you might find some useful information on our guide for dealing with financial difficulty.
