This isn’t a begging thread, I’ve been around for years just name change a lot.

I had £20 in my coat pocket, got to the till at the shops today and it wasn’t there. I think it must have fallen out of my pocket somewhere while I was walking to the shop. I left the shopping I’d got and walked out the shop because I was feeling so upset.

The money was some that I had borrowed off my mum so I don’t want to admit to her I’ve lost it and ask for more. She hasn’t got a lot to spare either.

I’ve got £6 odd in change, no money in the bank until Thursday. I need to get milk and bread so say £4 ish for meals. If I get pasta, tins of tomatoes and cheese. Will this be ok for a few days? Or anything else I can buy cheap that will be more nutritious.

There’s only me and one dc so don’t need much and I don’t mind eating toast or cheese sandwiches for a few days. Will dc be ok with limited diet for a couple of days. Below school age and doesn’t go to nursery to no meals provided elsewhere.

Hello everyone,

We've had a number of reports from people concerned about this thread so, as we usually do in these circs, we're putting our heads round the door with some important reminders.

So we always ask users to remember that not everyone on the internet is who they say they are – and remind folk not to give more to another poster, either financially (in cash or gifts) or emotionally (in time or care and support) than they'd be prepared to lose if things went wrong. We strongly advise against parting with any cash or giving away your personal details, and if you receive a PM which makes you uneasy - report it to us and we’ll take a look.

Sorry to hijack your thread briefly there, OP – we really hope you get it all sorted soon. In the meantime, you might find some useful information on our guide for dealing with financial difficulty
