To not re-read or re-watch anything ?

Recently I have seen lots of people watching the Xmas films , the same ones as every year and I loved some of them when I watched for the first time and I like the idea of it but I just can't re watch a film I have already seen or re read a book I have already read, I try but just get bored , distracted and it's never successful.

Never come across anyone else that's the same , is there anyone?

I can if I have really enjoyed it, but with books especially there aren’t many I will reread

MustardScreams · 07/12/2019 14:47

I’m the complete opposite, I can only concentrate on books/films/tv shows I’ve seen before, unless they’re exceptionally gripping.

I’ve watched the Good Wife about 10 times. It almost becomes like a comfort blanket.

Depends whether the plot or the characters are more interesting to you. If you're reading for plot then a re-read will be boring unless the first read was so long ago you've completely forgotten it. If you're more interested in characters, then a second read, when you don't have to worry about what happens to who, is really interesting because you pick up details you missed the first time.

I'm that same as you Emelsie. There are a couple of films I'll put on if I'm having a rough day but apart from those I don't rewatch or reread anything.

Butterymuffin · 07/12/2019 14:56

That's your preference OP. Some people are totally the opposite. No one's better than anyone else for it. It's just life.

I don’t reread or rewatch anything either.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 07/12/2019 14:56

Nope I am the same, as soon as I start to re-read a book it all comes flooding back and I can't carry on.
I don't watch a lot of films as they don't interest me that much - but it the same if I happen to see a film that I've watched before. Instant boredom!
