Am I in the wrong.

Christmas dinner planned today at a fancy restaurant with my friends (we're all early 20's). I've struggled with MH problems from a young age as well as some physical health problems that have occurred in the past year which are really hard to deal with and cause me a lot of pain in a daily basis.

I try to never cancel plans I have with them so I've never let them down before (even when I feel really depressed and am on antibiotics and in loads of pain I just put on a smiley face). They know about all of this but don't ask me about it and I try not to bring it up as I know it makes them uncomfortable.

Just text the group chat to say I can't make it today explaining why & apologising profusely. One friend has text and said that she's crying now and that she's going to be on her own for an hour whilst everyone else arrives (we were meeting an hour early as she works in the town and I was coming early to keep her company). No how am I, sorry to hear that, are you okay etc.

I literally give up. These people are so so nice and I love them but clearly they don't have a clue about MH or physical health problems. Trying not to feel guilty but I do.

@Bananabeak She works in the town we're meeting in and finishes work an hour before we were all meeting so she was already there anyway.

Fuck me, how pathetic.

Her, not you.

She's crying and she's judgmental of your mental health? She needs to get a grip

@rhubarbcrumbles said exactly what I was thinking.

Also, It’s fine for her to be disappointed IF she was looking forward to seeing YOU, but if she’s just treating you like a ‘time filler’ then it’s pretty bloody awful.

They’re not ‘nice’ & ‘lovely’. They’re selfish and self absorbed.

It’s a shame you don’t feel up to it tonight, but only because YOU are missing out. They’ll cope.

New Years Resolution - to make one new friend who is ‘real’ and not just a girls night out friend. 🌷

I hope whatever is causing the daily pain is something you can get sorted out because living like that is NO. Fun. Also get your AD medication checked if it’s not doing it’s job it won’t be helping dealing with any physical problems.

Do something that’ll make you feel happier tonight, do NOT sit around feeling guilty. I’m in my late 40’s I’m happy I’ve read ged an age where ‘staying in’ on a Saturday night doesn’t feel like a ‘cop out’. I didn’t get my Christmas tree up last weekend so that’s tonight’s grand plan 🎄 🍷

I think she's trying to persuade you to go by saying she's upset being on her own, that's all which shows does enjoy your company.

But keep to your plan and dont go unless you feel able to because you dont need the pressure if you are feeling unwell and to be honest they prob dont need the pressure either of someone unwell at the meal.

Go out together when everything's back on an even keel and all enjoy yourselves.

Doesn't sound very nice person at all . More like a user . You should look for new friends
