To be unsure about changing from iPhone to huawei??

So I currently have an iPhone 7 and I'm considering changing to Huawei P30 Pro.

I would love to hear from others who have gone from iPhone to huawei!

Is it easy to make the change? Is it easy to use? Do you regret leaving iPhone?

I just think iPhones are a rip off and the lack of storage drives me insane Confused

I would 100% recommend Huawei. I switched last year and would never go back. The camera and quality is better, much longer battery life and far better storage

spicysausageroll · 06/12/2019 18:47

Took a little getting used to, but now I'm used to it. I sometimes still find it confusing to do a few tweaks, but it's worth it to not be paying something ridiculous for a new iPhone

I switched last month and don't regret it. Had been with an iPhone for years and years. It was the camera on the iPhone that I finally got fed up with. I've got the P30 Pro and the camera is amazing, and the battery life is great. No more needing to charge it during the day, even after really hammering it with use.

I went from Huawei - I had two of them, an p20 and a 7" MediaPad T1, to an Iphone XR. In the beginning they worked fine, then the p20 started to have weird little things like frozen screens, text not inline etc and I had to restart it constantly. The Mediapad just died after one year, just a black screen. I care very well for my phones so nothing I did could have caused it. When I bought the p20 I was promised one update which never materialised. It's still working though, gave it to my 10 year old. I hated it in the end.

The iPhone Xr on the other hand is pure love Grin It just works beautifully! I had it for over a year now and will never go back to Android. Love it!

Hagbeth · 06/12/2019 19:21

Oh and the XR battery last for 2 day's with average use. Heavy user last all day Wink

Stickybeaksid · 06/12/2019 19:24

I have both. One for work and one for personal use. I HATE the huawei. My employer is pulling them due to the worry over network issues and 5g so we are getting iPhones. Thank god

Dandelion1993 · 06/12/2019 19:30

I did it last what and I'll never go back to iPhone.

You get just as much (if not more) for less money.

My phone has a better camera, updates with out issue, double the storage and better battery life than any iPhone.

Pineapple1 · 06/12/2019 19:31

@PurpleFrames

That's nonsence.

America have relaxed sanctions.

Any device already made has access to Google services. And even if it doesn't, this is android, you can side load them within moments.

Gingerkittykat · 06/12/2019 19:46

I've got a huawei P20 and like it but think the speaker quality is really poor so am thinking of replacing it. I had a Samsung before and thought it was far better.

I agree camera is really good and it hold battery really well. I would say it is good enough but not brilliant.

ballsdeep · 06/12/2019 19:50

I switched and I've never looked back. My iPhone constantly switched off at 50%, the battery lasted all of a few hours and the memory was constantly full. I love my hauwei p20 Pro. Lush camera so it looks like I'm a professional 😂😍📸 and a huge memory, battery lasts forever and when it needs to charge its full within 30 mins!

LipstickTaserrr · 06/12/2019 19:56

I'm another one voting OnePlus.
So much better than iPhone and the fast charge is a game changer.
I've only just gone from a 1 to a 3 so you don't even need to splash out on a new model.

Newcatmum · 06/12/2019 19:56

I've always had a Samsung and changed to Huawei last year I love it but I did say in the phone shop I was thinking about trying an iPhone for a change and the woman advised against it since I've always had an Android phone. She also said she would say the same to anyone thinking of changing from iPhone to Android. My friend got a Samsung after always having an iPhone and after a year has gone back to iPhone as she hated it.

Roussette · 06/12/2019 20:02

I'm a 5t Lipstick because I passed on my 3T to my DH and he loves it!

Agree the fast charge is a gamechanger. I don't want to charge my phone overnight, I want to stick it on charge and it be done in half an hour.

FunkyChunk · 06/12/2019 20:04

I switched from IPhone to OnePlus, I'd never go back to Apple now. You get so much more for your money with Android

LittleLongDog · 06/12/2019 20:05

I downloaded google photos onto my iPhone and it’s a game changer. I just open the app every now and then and it will transfer all my photos and videos over in the background. No need to keep any saved to my phone any more.

MustardScreams · 06/12/2019 20:06

I would definitely go Google Pixel over Huawei.

bluesatinmanolos · 06/12/2019 20:30

I swapped my iPhone for a Huawei about six months ago. My partner thought I was mad at first, but he went and swapped his last week. Grin

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 06/12/2019 20:39

I always had an iPhone, I didn't switch to a Huawei however I did go to an android and I'd never go back to iPhone. If I were you I'd give it a go.

Insideimsprinting · 06/12/2019 21:29

I have a Huawei, nothing flash. Like it better than iPhone.

I think apple are a rip off. Wouldn't go back.

goodtimesahead · 06/12/2019 21:51

Thank you all for the replies! Seems like a lot of good comments about this phone

When I was in the shop the shop assistant mentioned issues about google (I knew nothing about this) and said any phones that are made already only newer phones!

Does anyone know where I could find out more about this?

Son went from Samsung to P30.. he wishes he hadn’t. Counting the days to revert back.

thenightsky · 06/12/2019 22:07

I'm very happy with my P20 pro. DH works in telecoms and says the American sanctions issues are over-hyped and unlikely to happen.

User67836 · 06/12/2019 22:18

I did but then went back to an iPhone. I didn’t like the camera and I think google are going to stop access. I would consider a Samsung, I found the support and tutorials online for Huwawai not very good

GladAllOver · 06/12/2019 22:45

Look at the Samsung S10 instead. Very similar spec and price, and you'll have no problem with future access to Google apps.

QuestionableMouse · 06/12/2019 23:47

Also I've dropped mine multiple times and it's still working perfectly. Including it falling out of my pocket at the top of a ladder.

Not convinced that Apple or Samsung or Google are any more ethical than Huawei tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️
