Why are babybels wasting plastic?

It just seems so stupid. There’s so much in the news about trying to reduce plastic tat, and yet I can’t buy a bag of 6 babybels without a little plastic tray in them.

They're already individually wrapped in plastic in a plastic net. You could try buying edam from a deli counter with a reusable box if you're looking to reduce purchasing plastic?

They are banned in this house. Too many times I have had to scrape the shitty was off sofas and carpets.
