To find eczema one of the hardest things about parenting

Honestly my daughter has a lot going on including asthma and food allergies but I honestly find the hardest thing her eczema.
For a long time it was under control but in the last fortnight or so it's gone absolutely wild again. She's 2.5 now and it's not going anywhere.... I'm so depressed about it. She's been on steroid cream most of her life. Every time she flares I feel like I've failed her somehow. It's hard because now she's at nursery part time they haven't the time to
Moisturise her head to toe every hour like I could at home - but I'm pretty sure that's not the only reason for the flare. I've no idea where it's suddenly come from 🙁
Anyway that's it really. It sucks and I'm out of ideas. Seeing her derm on Friday but just fed up of this cycle. Please don't say child's farm - that made things 100 times worse

Fire resistant material which children’s pyjamas are made of can be irritating I have heard.

@Mummadeeze yes we're in this routine but use epaderm ointment rather than 50/50 (which blocked her pores) - but six times a day rather than twice

@Allegorical I know I was surprised too. He was so dismissive. I realise she's not the worst case in their care (I saw one girl really in a bad way yesterday and wanted to give her parents a hug) but every time I've been before they've been so good, it was odd.

I'm also not that impressed with eumovate - when we were on hydrocortisone and it was working you could see the improvement within a day or two but I've never found that with eumovate, even though it's stronger.

Not really sure what to do now. I guess I give it a couple of months. The itch is under control at least, just not the patchy rash

Child’s farm also made my DS 10x worse op!
My DS nursery was really good with applying his cream, now he’s at school his skin is a lot worse.
We use a hemp heavy duty moisture protection by the body shop which works at the moment

You spoke about the impact on your mental health and I wanted to comment on that because it’s a very real problem. It’s well documented that skin conditions can impact the mental health of the sufferers. It doesn’t surprise me at all that a parent of a young patient would feel those effects as well. Please know that you are not alone or abnormal in finding this difficult
