To ask for advice regarding a bolt stuck in the back of our tv

Warning, definitely a first world problem but I'm not sure where else to turn to for help Blush
We've bought a new TV a month ago with the intention of hanging it on the wall. Whilst trying to attach the bracket of the wall mount we noticed we used the wrong screw hole of the bracket, and started taking the bolts out. One of the bolts must have cross threaded as it will spin but won't come out.
We have tried everything we can think of to get the bolt out. Insurance won't help as it's something we have done and not an accident.
Have spoken with the engineers we've been referred to by the manufacturer and worst case scenario we may need a new tv screen as it's all closely connected.
So yeah, AIBU to ask if anyone has any advice on who else to ring to ask for help with bolt removal? We had to buy this tv a month ahead of Black Friday as our old one broke and I'm already put out at having seen bigger TVs for sale for the same price as we bought this one, and we're probably not done spending money on it before it can go on the wall!

Can you not abandon the wall plan and use its stand on a slimline tv table

I will ask DH his job involves putting screens on wall brackets. Have you tried a local TV repair workshop?

Drill it out?

TheQueef · 03/12/2019 19:01

Hacksaw the bolt off.

Did you get sorted? DH said can you leave the bolt in, or grab hold of it with mole grips and pull it out that way.

You need to drill the bolt out. We restore classic cars. My life revolves around getting nuts and bolts that have been together for 70 years. If you don’t feel confident, find a restorer and any half decent one won’t bat an eyelid about getting it out
