online shopping & reviews

that really pisses me off.
you buy something online and then get hounded for a review.
I don't want to give a review. I just want to shop and that's it.
I'm considering withdrawing a wad of cash and spend it on the high street.

I wouldn’t say I get hounded to leave a review with most retailers. If you feel like you do, go on to the email, scroll down and unsubscribe from the feedback notifications.

Slightly unrelated but I find amazon humorous. I’ll often receive emails from them, asking if I can answer a customer’s question from something random I bought in like 2015 and have long forgotten about!

Go on amazon and have a look at some answers😂 Priceless.
Q "How strong is this light?"
A "I don't know"

Q "what are the dimensions of the box?"
A "Sorry, I don't know. It's in a loft"

To the OP nowBlush

Hounded? I get 1 request, if that and that's it. Considering how many people shop based on reviews it's understandable they ask.

stripeypillowcase · 03/12/2019 14:49

I usually get one request - I ignore it/delete the email
then a reminder...and another.

I'm always careful with tickboxes wrt newsletters and data selling.

Before you delete the first, there is usually "unsubscribe" at the bottom. Click on it. Though I have no idea where you are shopping because I VERY rarely get more than 1 and I shop all over.

I'm always careful with tickboxes too and I get as much spam as ever now and repeated requests for reviews, which I just ignore.

It appears all that GDPR nonsense last year or whenever it was, was a total waste of time, because they're obviously either completely ignoring it, or have found a way round the 'a company can only market to you if you specifically agree to it' rule, because I agree to nothing and get multiple emails a day from all sorts of internet companies.
