To feel like I look lumpy or fatty?

Just wanted a perspective from other mumsnetters- have name changed as don’t want to link to my usual non-weight related posts!

5ft5 117lbs which sounds good...but my tummy and back has visible fat and flab rolls!

Is there anyone else that looks or feels like this? There’s still so many outfits I can’t wear or look unflattering on me!

And no I’m not ‘fat-shaming’- I have lots of beautiful friends that weigh more than me- they just seem to carry it much better!

OP looking at your other thread on your other name it seems like the comment (which was very rude and unecessary) has bothered a lot. Maybe time to lose a friend but gain some self confidence because no one in the street is looking at you in the way you’re looking at yourself, we are very judgemental of ourselves and I think a lot of people have body/eating issues because how we see ourselves is not at all what other people see, your friend was pretty awful saying what she did even if she somehow didn’t mean for it to make her sound like a twat (which she is) Flowers & Cake

@Dinosforall thanks for pointing out- was trying, hopelessly, to remain anonymous. I am a 8/10/12 depending on shop and just wanted some perspective on friend’s comments

@z0fl0ra thank you- this is such a kind and insightful comment. You’re right, my friend made me panic and think I’m not ok at my size

Lovemenorca · 03/12/2019 07:32

The multiple name changes but all focusing on your weight and body... I suspect your issues are more focussed in your head rather than ground in reality of your body

Lovemenorca · 03/12/2019 07:34

* I’d describe myself as a lumpy size 8 (10 in Jane Norman/ Topshop) 😒*

But yesterday on another thread you say 10-12

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 03/12/2019 07:34

Everyone has a bit of back fat (apart from athletes, marathon runners etc.) even my sporty slim size 10 friends

Treat yourself and your body with a bit of kindness, I bet you look fab, really, at that size

No need to go super lean IMO, just live, and ditch unhelpful and unsupportive friends who are obsessed with looksGrin

Oysterbabe · 03/12/2019 07:47

You've shrunk an inch and gained a dress size since yesterday so maybe your body needs to time to catch up?

Oysterbabe · 03/12/2019 07:49

Weight / size is an emotive topic on mumsnet and this post demonstrates that the numbers are probably made up half the time.
