To love it when DH is out?

DH doesn't go out as much as he used to and frankly it's not working for me. I like having an evening to myself; to eat and watch what I like. Tonight he came home early and I was really pissed off. We've been together for 18 years, but are ok. I don't want to split up, but I would like to see less of him. I'm even starting to daydream about separate houses bedrooms.

Is this normal? Are we doomed?

This year I’m so happy to not be going on his work Christmas do. I’ve gone for years and made the polite chat with various colleagues and partners but this year I’ve said ‘I’m out!’ Duncan Banantyne style.Looking forward to seafood, goats cheese and other yummy stuff he hates with much wine!Grin

I had a right cob on about it. Oh my god, I haven't heard that expression in years! The nostalgia!

I use it all the time, didn’t even bat an eyelid 😂

Me neither.

YANBU, I'm the same. If he tells me he's working away for a couple of days I dance a private little jig at the thought of having the house to myself for a while 😁

Is there another sitting room you could occupy

We certainly don’t have a second sitting room!

I think it is very healthy to want to, and be content, to be alone.

I am very lucky that I get this.

When my husband is off I make a conscious effort to be out of the house so that he can have it too.

The house to one's own, is frankly glorious.

Perfectly healthy, perfectly normal.
