I have 2 Christmas stories to share and I’d love to hear yours,

1- one year I hadn’t been quick enough to collect my present from my ‘friend’ (we’ll call her M), so she gave it to another ‘friend’ (lets call her S). When I delivered my gift to M, something I had sourced just for her that I thought she would love, my gift wasn’t wrapped so I couldn’t take it. When I went to M’s house before New Year, she unashamedly told me that she had given my gift to S as I hadn’t collected it! S had already received a gift from M. M did tell me that it was a set of makeup brushes that S really liked!!! WTF!!!

2- because I hadn’t bought my Mum’S new boyfriend a birthday present (his birthday was November) she didn’t buy me a birthday present (my birthday is December 1st) or a Christmas Present. I was 17, I’m 42 now btw.

A few years ago my DH spent ages looking online for the perfect gifts for his 2 sisters and parents.
MIL always had to see what was being given before hand to make sure it was suitable expensive enough for everyone.
DH had chosen a lovely piece of jewellery for one sister and something involved with the other sisters hobby. He got really cool unique present for his dad and an expensive pair of shoes for his mym, which she had asked for.
Upon inspection none of the gifts were deemed worthy enough and she said 'hmm I suppose that'll do if you put a 20 in their cards.'
I was shocked and could not believe it! she then went on to show DH the pair of boots that she had brought for him to give her, they were £30 more expensive than the shoes she had picked. She told DH to give her the extra 30 for the boots and took the shoes and receipt to be returned by her since she was going into town that weekend and DH didn't have time to do it, that's why he had brought it all so early!
She never gave us the money from the shoes so she ended up with a nice pair of boots, £30 off DH for the extra AND she kept the origional £40 from the first pair of shoes. Oh and I was accused of interfering with DH's finances (we have joint finances...) when I offered to take the first pair of shoes back myself.

It was worth it though because me and DH haven't spent an Xmas with her since and certainly havent brought anymore gifts for that side of the family since. It was the straw that broke the camels back.
