To ask for help with Xmas eve "box" ideas?

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 30/11/2019 10:51

We don't really do the full Xmas eve box, but on Xmas eve the "Christmas eve elves" bring 2 presents for DS and leave them on his bed.

There's always Christmas pjs and every year until now he's had a Christmas film on DVD for us to watch together before he goes to bed.

Thing is we have all the Christmas films now (the decent ones anyway!) And he's not a big film fan.

So I'm after ideas for the 2nd present, pjs are sorted.

Any Christmas wisdom from the nest of vipers 😉

How old is he? Would a board game work?

AWafferthinmint · 30/11/2019 10:54

How about a book for you to read together?

CardiFree · 30/11/2019 10:55

Another request for age here OP.

Oneborneverydecade · 30/11/2019 10:56

We've stopped buying dvds and find something on Prime instead. Mine will still get pjs but the older 2 are getting freakshake kits too

Board game is a good idea but he has loads already and it's a bit.more than I'd like to spend.

Budget around £10 to £15

We always read the night before Christmas before bed

My DD is 2 and I got her a Christmas activity book with stickers and colouring. So that we can do it together on Christmas Eve.

hidinginthenightgarden · 30/11/2019 11:13

Id get some snacks like popcorn and hot chocolate so you can watch the xmas films.

Wildorchidz · 30/11/2019 11:17

A book.

ForalltheSaints · 30/11/2019 11:19

How about not doing it and making a charity donation instead? An opportunity for your child to be aware of the poverty that exists in the world and that Christmas should be about caring for others.

Leeds2 · 30/11/2019 11:22

Snowman/Father Christmas bubble bath.

PavlovsDeafDog · 30/11/2019 12:09

I also vote for a book -- especially a non-fiction, informative book, with lots of photos.
What is he interesred in?
A particular sport?
Race cars?
Drawing?

Education is a gift that keeps on giving.

greenlobster · 30/11/2019 12:52

How about a Where's Wally type book? There's various Christmas themed ones around. My dd used to love competing with me to spot things first in those books.

Or a jigsaw to do as a family

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 30/11/2019 13:27

Forallthesaints - we donate to charity throughout the year and support our local cash for kids Christmas charity so children living in poverty receive Christmas presents...

But yes, by all means let's spoil the magic of Christmas by forgoing our family traditions to teach my son a life lesson.

Or not

@Oneborneverydecade
What do get in the freakshake kit if you don't mind me asking? I can't work it out from the description.
